Designing the Future
At this point in my journey, my design principles for intercultural education and curriculum design are:
• Human Connection
• Multiple Perspectives
I have learned a lot about myself as a designer and design thinker. I believe that there is power in design because it places human beings and their lived realities at the centre of innovation. It calls for possibilities, imagination, collaboration, and creativity. It spurs prototypes, failure, and perseverance. It recognizes the ever-evolving nature of identity and experience.
For me, equitable and inclusive design in education will result directly in deeper connection among individuals and communities. At this point in the history of humankind, this deep sense of connection can inspire us to engage in more effective forms of social action.
